HELLO and welcome to my blog.  There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

To be honest i've been reluctant to start a blog for some time now.  I'm told by fellow photographers that its good for business, that every click is a potential customer.  My ruthless optimism leads me to agree, and so here I am giving it a go, except I can't shrug the nagging doubt that the internet has seen and heard it all before.  Everyone already has a blog, right?  You can't move for photography blogs dishing out tips and tricks, advice on gear, insider guides to the industry, or just collections of hungover owls.

So whilst I gather my courage and decide exactly what this blog is about, I'm must demand that you all keep reading.  I promise to keep it short and relatively pointless.  You never know, the whole thing could explode like Bieber (I wish he would explode), then I'll get free stuff and at the same time you'll look cool for 'being there first', and can claim things like, "I knew him back when he held that egg hostage".

Sadly I think its more likely to splutter through a handful of entries before joining the annuls of internet obscurity, lost forever in a sea of unrequited opinion and careless shouting.  Please file this somewhere under Ask Jeeves but preferably above the hamster dance.

Stay cool, stay fresh, stay positive

All cynicism aside, this is now my blogging mantra.  I've laid it down and i'm going to stay with it.  So if you're interested to hear what I'm getting up to with my work, then this is the place to indulge that interest - I will be sharing riveting anecdotes from the front line of sports photography.  I'll also be sharing work by people who inspire me, the occasional tricks and ideas that fascinate me, and in between share the odd photo-related event for your diaries too.  I will try to be quick and to the point, I will meander from the sacred to the profane, and since i'm forever damning of popular culture, I will no doubt give an hilariously bitter rant here and there.
